Berlin (dpa) - Am Tag vor der Deutschen Einheit, 2.10.2024 feiert die erste deutschsprachige Serie des Streamingdienstes Apple TV+ ihre Premiere. Die sogenannte Dark Comedy mit Heike Makatsch (52) und Axel Stein (42) in den Hauptrollen hat den englischsprachigen Titel „Where's Wanda?“. Start ist am 2. Oktober mit zwei Folgen. Bis 13. November kommt dann jeden Mittwoch eine neue der restlichen Folgen, die Ufa Fiction produziert hat.
Die achtteilige Serie dreht sich um ein Paar (Stein und Makatsch), das verzweifelt nach seiner vor Monaten spurlos verschwundenen Tochter Wanda (Lea Drinda) sucht. Weil die Polizei versagt, nimmt die Familie die Sache selbst in die Hand. Der technikaffine Sohn (Leo Simon) hilft mit Überwachungsgeräten; Nachbarschaft und halber Vorort werden verwanzt.
Die Serie fährt allerhand Schauspiel-Prominenz auf, darunter Nikeata Thompson, Palina Rojinski, Kostja Ullmann, Harriet Herbig-Matten, Devid Striesow und Joachim Król.
Wie weit würdest du gehen, um dein Kind zu retten? Für Carlotta (Heike Makatsch) und Dedo (Axel Stein) ist die Antwort klar. Bis vor kurzem waren sie eine ganz normale Familie, aber nachdem sie vergeblich darauf gewartet haben, dass die Polizei ihre 17-jährige Tochter Wanda (Lea Drinda) zurückbringt, die vor Monaten spurlos verschwunden ist, nehmen sie die Suche nun selbst in die Hand. Mit Hilfe ihres technisch versierten Sohnes Ole (Leo Simon), der ihnen bei der Beschaffung von Überwachungsgeräten hilft, verkleiden sie sich als Angestellte einer Elektrofirma und verwanzen zunächst ihr Viertel und dann den halben Vorort. Dabei stellt sich heraus, dass hinter verschlossenen Türen keiner ihrer Nachbar:innen sind, wer sie vorgeben zu sein.

Disguising themselves as employees of an electrical company, they bug first their neighborhood and then half their suburb, finding out that behind closed doors none of their neighbors are who they pretend to be.
